Inception fic prompt: 1930s Opium Dream AU
A brief encounter in an opium den. They come here to dream and remember what they’ve lost: Mal is a ghost trying to find her way back. Eames is a gambler who wants to forget for a while that he is running for his life. Arthur, the soldier, seeks a relief and a taste of forbidden fruit. Cobb is a merchant who searches for Her in his lost memories… They appear within each other’s dreams.
To wake up from that after, after years, after decades… after we’d become old souls thrown back into youth like that… I knew something was wrong with her. She just wouldn’t admit it. Eventually, she told me the truth. She was possessed by an idea, this one, very simple idea, that changed everything. That our world wasn’t real. That she needed to wake up to come back to reality, that, in order to get back home, we had to kill ourselves.
Thank you to everyone that participated in this year’s Inception related challenges and events. Hopefully we can continue to host some movie watches once a month or bi-monthly, for those of you who want to still chat.
The scavenger winners will be contacted shortly!
Don’t forget to check back or add yourself to the Friending Meme.
The A/E mini-match will still remain open to posts for anyone who is still working on entries, but as of the official events closing date, Team Romance wins with 3 submitted works, to Team Angst’s 1. Congratulations Team Romance!
Actually, the entire community is open year round for you add your posts/comments to, if you’d like.
"Dreams feel real while we’re in them. It’s only when we wake up that we realize something was actually strange."
